It is written in the Gospel of John:
John 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believes on him is not condemned:
but he that believes not is condemned already,
because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The name of the Son of God is Jesus.
This is Greek (Ἰησοῦς) and means: God saves, or God is Savior.
The unique Son of God is the only mediator between the Creator God and man.
Without the Son of God there is no salvation!
It must be known that the Creator God is a loving God, but He is also holy and just.
He tested His first human couple for obedience, but they disobeyed Him.
Any disobedience to God's word is sin that God must punish.
Romans 3
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
We can do nothing at all for our salvation, not the slightest thing!
But God Himself has done everything, so that we can get a glorious salvation from Him as a gift,
if we want to receive it.
Romans 6
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God gave the work of salvation to His beloved son to carry out.
and the Son of God was willing to do God's will.
Hebrews 10 (NAS)
5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,
“SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME;
6 IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE.
7 “THEN I SAID, ‘BEHOLD, I HAVE COME
(IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.’”
Only the Son of God, who is also called the Holy One of God, was unblemished, pure and without sin.
Therefore, only He could take upon Himself the judgment for our sins, death, on behalf of us human beings.
John 1
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming unto him, and said,
Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
And He did it, voluntarily and out of love for us humans, He poured out His soul into death.
Already in the Book of Isaiah, the Son of God was promised as the suffering servant of God,
more than 700 years before His birth:
Isaiah 53 (NAS)
3 He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
and like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried;
yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities;
the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.

Matthew 4
17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say,
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
It is quite decisive whether and with which attitude of heart you accept this extremely precious gift of grace!
If you say, I am not that bad, hold on to your “self”-righteousness and reject the grace of God,
you will have to enter the terrible judgment of God after your death.
This ends with condemnation and eternal banishment to a terrible place called the lake of fire.
We cannot begin to imagine the pain and suffering of the Son of God,
which He took upon Himself because of our sins:
E.g. betrayal, false accusations, falseness, unbelief, He allowed Himself to be counted among the lawless,
hatred, envy, loneliness, distress, humiliation, mockery, crown of thorns, He shed His blood,
terrible pain until the death of suffocation on the cross.
The Son of God endured all this for our sake, in order to save us from judgment
and to reconcile us with God, who created heaven and earth and all life
and sustains us by His unimaginable power.
1 John 1
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Confess and repent before Him all your sins, all those that occur to you, in your quiet chamber.
I like to go on my knees before the great God.
Maybe you want to take a witness who will remind you in times when doubts come,
how genuine your repentance and prayer was, and therefore how genuine your forgiveness was and remains.
Ask the Lord Jesus to come into your heart and give Him dominion over your life.
You can do no better! He created you, He knows you, He loves you, He guides you through His Word!
John 1 (NAS)
11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,
even to those who believe in His name,
13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Read the Bible, the Word of God, that is the "food" you need now. This is how you receive Him.
He is the Word of God made flesh. God revealed as man.
Start with the Gospel of John. This is where you get to know the Lord Jesus the best.
Ask Him to bring you into fellowship with other Christians.
1 Peter 2 (NAS)
1 Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,
2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
